Message - Chairperson
Dear esteemed fellow musicians, students, parents, colleagues and friends,
It is my pleasure to present to you, the annual Nanyang International Piano Academy (NIPA) 2022!
The Academy was created to provide a platform for both aspiring and advanced piano students, as well as piano music enthusiasts from around the region, to learn and also challenge themselves. Through learning and interacting with like-minded individuals, I hope that this will inspire self-discovery, developing further knowledge and deepening understanding.
We were highly encouraged by the enthusiastic response since 2019, spurring us to continue to bring you classes, lectures and workshops relevant to current musical issues. With the success of NIPA 2021 being held entirely online, and along with the new skills that we have acquired in the “new normal” due to Covid-19, I am confident that this year’s Piano Academy will be just as engaging and fruitful for all participants. In view of the “new normal” that we have all come to work with due to Covid-19, the Piano Academy for 2022 is pleased to embrace new boundaries, new ideas, new challenges, and of course, new and returning participants that form this NIPA community! We are truly privileged and honoured to have with us many eminent and distinguished pianists, musicians and pedagogues in this year’s faculty. The NIPA organising team is immensely grateful to have them share with us their knowledge and inspire us with their passion.
I am certain that this event will yet again be fruitful and rewarding, as in the past, and I hope to meet everyone very soon, and together, strengthening the music community and taking music-making to a whole new level of experience and fulfilment!

The Nanyang International Piano Academy (NIPA) is an annual gathering of like-minded music lovers with the common goal of pursuing a higher standard of music making. Each year, music lovers gather for an intensive 4-day musical experience that offers each participant a place to grow musically in a fun and exciting learning environment.
NIPA was formed with the aim of creating a musical community of visiting professors, artistes, piano pedagogues and young pianists from around the region. The Academy provides opportunities for piano students to learn under renowned faculty members from overseas and Singapore. Also all participants are free to attend other lessons as much can be learnt from the observation itself. Since its first edition in 2019, the NIPA community has grown with both new and returning lecturers as well as participants. The programs are carefully curated, taking into consideration current pedagogical trends and issues as well as suggestions made by participants.
